StormSack

The StormSack catch basin insert is optimized for the capture of gross pollutants – sediments, trash and debris. Featuring a woven Geotextile filter bag, the StormSack provides high treatment flow rates while capturing sediments and other solids contained in stormwater or urban runoff. The StormSack also has a replaceable oil absorbent boom for treating oils and grease.

Ideally suited for municipal storm drain retrofits, the StormSack’s heavy duty construction and advanced features provide for easy installation and maintenance.

The “Plus” line of StormSack is Fabco’s most advanced line of inserts utilizing a Geotextile filter bag. The filter bag fabric has identical properties to the “BMP” products however the mounting frame material and over all fabrication has been upgraded for greater strength and adjustability.

Features Summary:

  • Designed for flat, combination, and open curb drain inlets
  • Holds up to 1,100 lbs of sediments and debris
  • Hydrocarbon treatment capability
  • Durable, aluminum frame with replaceable filter bags – designed to last
  • Covered bypass retains trash during extreme rain events
  • Adjustable mounting system

Options include:

  • Two bag depths 15″ and 30″
  • Replaceable Hydrocarbon Boom

The StormSack is available in over 400 sizes and comes standard with a patented adjustable aluminum flange.

    StormSack BMP – Rectangular

The Fabco StormSack BMP filter unit is specifically engineered for flat drop combination style grated inlets. The StormSack BMP is a superior catch basin inlet filter designed to capture gross pollutants. This unit has been value engineered to deliver high performance, durabiltiy, ease of installation and maintenance.

The StormSack BMP features a woven geotextile fabric specificially chosen to optimize the filtered flow rate while still capturing the target pollutants. Additional features include frame adjustability, lightweight aluminum construction and an optional polypropylene-mesh filter sack liner to guard against shovel strikes during cleanout operations.

The replaceable filter sack is designed using a unique “Loop and Rod” support system. More specifically, the sack includes an array of looped straps that pass through an identical number of slots in the support frame. A stainless steel rod is then passed through each loop to support the sack and provide a secure and evenly distributed working load. When necessary, the sack can be removed by simply sliding each rod out of the supporting loops. The StormSack BMP design provides light weight, adjustability and superior strength.

      StormSack Plus – Rectangular

      • The StormSack Plus is built with one of the strongest frames on any insert product. The robust full aluminum frame offers a long service life in even the most extreme conditions. This is the preffered design for larger inserts up to 48″ x 48″ and more.
      • The StormSack Plus includes a full covered bypass which retains previously captured floatable material during bypass operation.
      • An HD plastic mesh liner covers the inner bag surface protecting it from potential rips and tears that could happen during maintenance activities, extending it’s life.
      • The mounting flange of the Plus system offers the most adjustability of any StormSack product at a full 5″ of X-Y adjustment. This provides significant advantages during installation.
      • An oil absorbent boom is included with the StormSack Plus to extend its range of applicatino making it ideal for parking lots and roadside drain inlets.
      • The StormSack is available in 18 basic sizes which can be adjusted to a specific size using the adjustable flange. To select the correct product for your needs the size should be taken from the catch basin grate. For example, a 24” x 48” grate would require a 9748-1 part number, then add the installation kit letter for a deep flange “C”; therefore your final part number would be 9748-1C*
