If there’s one thing Fabco is known for in the stormwater management industry, it’s adapting to our clients’ needs. For over 25 years, we’ve been working with engineers, municipalities and corporations to ensure that every stormwater management solution is the perfect one for each individual job.
In February 2022, we worked hand-in-hand with Adams County in the city of Brighton, Colorado on a pilot program to create a unique flume filter screening system designed to address a trash and debris problem outside a large outfall pipe leading to a nearby pond. In May 2022, we published a story detailing the success of the project, where Juliana Archuleta of Adams County was happy to say that Fabco had designed “a one-of-a-kind system that will help protect the environment, save time for county workers, and reduce drainage maintenance costs.”
The Adams County Public Works team even shared this awesome video of their experience maintaining the unit:
But the story doesn’t end there! After the initial success, the Adams County team sought to go even bigger in 2023. With the need for a durable, sturdy unit built to last, they opted to try a stainless-steel version of the filter, where the previous was aluminum. We spent some time tweaking the design based on feedback from the first unit, and in October 2023, the new unit was installed.
Just a few months later in February 2024, they performed the first cleaning with a vac truck!
Now in October 2024, we are honored to announce that we are being recognized with the Colorado LTAP Conference Award for Innovation. This wouldn’t have been possible without our direct collaboration with the team at Adams County, so here’s a huge shout out to them! We look forward to another year of innovation and adapting to the needs of communities around the world.
